It's Christmas!

Hello, and Merry Christmas!  It's been a while since my last post i realise.  I've been doing lots of Christmassy themed pieces over the last couple of months.  So to begin here's an illustration that is now featured in Amelia's magazine.  The theme was Christmas music and i choose to illustrate a cover version of the great Wonderful Christmastime (its such a classic Christmas tune) by Dog is Dead.  I loved the video and I wanted the illustration to be subtley humorous.  Along with the traditional Christmas things (crackers, reindeer, the delightful Christmas jumper! and so on) I wanted it to be quite decorative and I was obsessed with the sprouts being an integral part of Christmas and having a good bop around.  Who doesn't love a sprout at Christmas after all!?!

The image below I've used for Christmas cards and is also featured in the Yoillo Advent Calendar.  Give the calendar a look, it has wonderful illustrations from some very talented lovely folk.

This little chap I made while I was on a trip home and he is happily sitting in his new place on the tree waiting patiently for Christmas day!

It's going to be strange not drawing snowflakes, stars and the like for a while now!  Happy Christmas!

Skullface for Halloween

Hello, this is a little something I did for Halloween and for the excellent Illustration Rally.  It was nice to do something a bit different and use ink and bleach again which I haven't done for a while.  Happy Halloween!

Savages and Leutton Postle

Hello, I've just recently completed some more work for Amelia's Magazine.  Firstly for these rather lovely sunglasses by Leutton Postle.  The colours are so rich and vibrant so it was a real pleasure to illustrate for me. The full article can be seen here with lots glorious glasses.

My second illustration was for a live review of the band Savages.  This was a good challenge for me as I haven't done anything like this for a while.  I hope I managed to capture something of the essence of the band and relay some sort of a live performance feel!  Have a look here.  That's it for now, bye!

Hello! This is my first blog post so firstly welcome to my blog!

I recently completed this Illustration for Amelia's Magazine.  I think I had a really great designer to work with and it was a fun piece to do.  Nova Chiu's prints are so colourful and beautiful so for me it meant I could get some lovely bright inks out which is always a delight for me!  Thank you Amelia!
