Hello,

So it's been a nice long busy weekend but full of fun things.  I managed to get to the Matisse exhibition at Tate Modern which was great to see.  I loved looking at all the layering that took place in so many of the collages.  Something which you don't get to appreciate unless you see them in the flesh.
So here's my latest work.  I wanted to work with restricted colour on this one and stick with mainly blues.  I really enjoy all the pattern and line work and I love creating fantasy plants and trees.  I think something maybe lurking in the bushes :).
Bye for now!

Hello,

So I've been drawing food again which has been very enjoyable.  So first up is the savoury dish.  I have actually made this and very nice it was too (although i made the veggie sausage version, minus the bacon).  I enjoyed using the really rich reds and browns, different colours from those I have been using just lately.  Plus, adding the decorative elements and creating textures was (as always) fun for me.

So next are these cookies, Cranberry and Oat.  I haven't made these but as far as I'm concerned anything containing oats can only be good!

That's all for now, have a good week! :)

Hello,

So at this time of year in England it is spring, yay!  So on some days out comes the sun, it's a little warmer, there is a lovely blue sky, you notice everything growing again and everyone gets excited about the prospect of lovely long days ahead.....Today however the sun has taken a break somewhere else....so it's colder and grey, boo!  Still I'm sure this will not last! :)  Anyway, here is my latest work based on the theme of spring, I hope you like it.  I had fun doing all the pen work, a material I don't usually use and I really like the vibrancy of the marks.  Have a good day!

Hello,

It's been the first really lovely weekend of the year, sun all the way and it really feels like spring has arrived in London :).  As soon as March arrives I always get pretty excited anyway, as for me it really means the beginning of (hopefully) better weather, and you really start to see everything begin to grow again.  Anyway, here's my latest piece of work, not very springlike but (hopefully) can be more of a farewell to winter!  It was originally inspired by a winter walk I did but the colour scheme changed quite dramatically from what I originally had planned when the idea first came along.  I worked on this for quite sometime before I was happy enough with it.  Sometimes it's like that.  I did have a lot of fun with all the shapes, line work and the textures.  Anyway I hope you enjoy, and if you had sunshine this weekend enjoyed that too!  Bye for now :)

Hello,

So I've been drawing more food.  This time of the savoury variety.  This is another one of my concoctions which i love eating.  What I love food wise often gets a mixed reaction by people I know, so maybe I have strange tastebuds.....or maybe not......but anyway, I'm the one eating it! :).  So I love the luscious colours of an aubergine and I had a lot of fun as usual making textures and patterns with the ingredients.  I'm enjoying drawing what is different subject matter for me and I have a lot of other food related ideas bouncing around in my head.  In the meantime I hope you enjoy this piece.
Bye for now!

Hello, so here we are mid way through January already.  It's the time of year when people are possibly still sticking to their new years resolutions combined with it being cold and wet (well here in London it has been anyway....err no change there then!)......so in keeping with that here's a recipe filled with goodness!  I've been wanting to draw more food related things for a while and I love porridge, made well of course, with a bit of attention, and the raspberries just give it a bit of an edge.    So I had a lot of fun creating this piece, playing around with shapes and patterns, creating textures and colouring.  Of course I had to keep testing out the recipe :).  I hope you enjoy!

Hello,

So it's almost Christmas and I am very excited to be heading home and relaxing for a bit.  My presents are wrapped and stacked ready to go and I......am not packed but that will happen....soon!
So as it is that time of year here's a Christmas illustration that I completed recently.
Happy Christmas! :)
